Gabrielle was part of the US premier in 2013, which toured the United States, and also appeared in the Mass when it was featured at Chautaqua’s summer festival in 2016. The Abyssinian Mass is “a swinging celebration for big band and gospel choir from Grammy- and Pulitzer Prize–winning composer, bandleader, and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, created to mark the bicentennial of Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church.” The Mass has many musical movements that range from Gospel to Soul to Jazz to Classical, but be sure that all of them will move you deeply. Swing Time Bootcamp!

Want to delve into jazz singing this summer? Join Gabrielle for a 5-day intensive “boot camp” hosted by Singnasium. Along with pianist Michael Kanan and bassist Pat O’Leary, the trio will lead singers through a course that explores many aspects of jazz singing, from phrasing and swing feel to interpretation and story telling. The class culminates in a casual performance on Monday night- if you’re going to work that hard on your craft you might as well show it off!

Singnasium is an organization that Gabrielle teaches for- their focus is on continuing vocal education for adults from vocal technique to arranging to learning specific styles like jazz.

Gabrielle is very excited to be playing Asheville, NC for the first time at the beautiful Isis Music Hall. Set in the heart of West Asheville, Isis Theater was built in 1937 as a single screen movie house and screened its last film in 1957. It now houses a 450-seat concert theater and an intimate 50-seat lounge which is where Gabrielle will perform. Along with Asheville’s own pianist Alex Taub and bassist Pat O’Leary, Gabrielle will play a varied set of original compositions, jazz standards and material from her new Willie Nelson project. Gabrielle is THRILLED to celebrate the release of her new CD, dedicated to the music of Willie Nelson at Birdland. She’ll be joined by the full band featured on the CD- pianist Joshua Richman, co-producer and pianist Art Hirahara on organ, bassist Pat O’Leary, drummer Eric Halvorson and an all-star horn section: Jon-Erik Kellso on trumpet, John Allred on trombone, Scott Robinson on tenor sax, Jay Rattman on alto and Jay Brandford on baritone. Art Hirahara, the album’s co-producer, will guest on organ. The Broadway Playhouse series introduces young audiences to great works of American Music and Theater. Each show engages children through games, sing-a-longs and mini-musicals to tell the life stories of various composers and the different qualities that define their music. March's final show features the music of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the writing team behind “Seussical”, “Once on this Island”, “Anastasia” and more!
