WBGO Gateway Series FREE Concert!

Gabrielle is thrilled to be participating in WBGO's Gateway Series, which offers a free hour of music, 12-1pm, in Gateway Plaza, a lovely open air plaza in downtown Newark. Gabrielle will be joined by pianist Art Hirahara, bassist Pat O'Leary and drummer Keito Nakano.  

The group will play an eclectic set of standards and originals and New Yorker's can easily join in the fun too! Gateway Plaza is just a five minute walk from Newark's Penn Station. Admission is free.

We Will Schoolhouse Rock You!

Gabrielle will be joining a stellar cast of singers celebrating the 45th anniversary of the television classic Schoolhouse Rock- in addition to celebrating the life and music of the great composer and original SHR musical director, Bob Dorough.

Sondheim Unplugged at 54 Below

Gabrielle is happy to appear again in this series at 54 Below, featuring stripped-down versions of composer Stephen Sondheim's music. Back by popular demand from last season’s Ella Fitzgerald’s 100th birthday tribute, Gabrielle Stravelli swings the songs of Richard Rodgers, backed again by an amazing 17-piece swing band including Carl Topilow and Dr. Art Topilow. The catalog of Richard Rodgers includes immortals songs from his musicals with Oscar Hammerstein II (South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King and I) as well as the standards that derive from the musicals with Larry Hart, including “Bewitched,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Where Or When,” “Blue Moon” “Isn’t It Romantic” and “Manhattan.”

Gabrielle Stravelli at Green Room 42

Gabrielle will be making her debut at Green Room 42 in their first ever jazz series. Green Room 42 is a swanky new music room located within Yotel in New York's Times Square. They have a full bar and even offer two-for-one drinks from 5:30-6pm! 

Gabrielle will be joined by pianist Art Hirahara and bassist Pat O'Leary and will play one set starting at 7pm.

Each show engages children through games, sing-a-longs and mini-musicals to tell the life stories of various composers and the different qualities that define their music. WBGO's 2018 Jazz on the Mountain Festival

Gabrielle is thrilled to be joining the lineup for the 2018 WBGO Jazz on the Mountain festival hosted by Michael Bourne. The festival takes place over the weekend of January 11-15th at the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, NY and features a wonderful slate of performers including trumpeter Ingrid Jensen, drummer Matt Wilson, clarinetist Anat Cohen and yours truly!

Gabrielle and Billy Stritch at Birdland in "Down For Double"!

Gabrielle Stravelli and Billy Stritch are delighted to make their first appearance together at Birdland in “Down For Double”. The pair met at the famed club's own Cast Party in 2012 and have since collaborated on two shows at the 92nd Street Y, headlined a concert with the Santa Rosa Symphony and spent many spontaneous Monday evenings making music together in the “jazz capital of the world”. 

For “Down for Double” Stravelli and Stritch have mined the Great American Songbook for beloved classics like "Centerpiece", "I Wish I Were in Love Again", "Goody Goody" and more than a few lesser-known gems from composers like Cy Coleman, Johnny Mercer and Irving Berlin.

In keeping with tradition, Winter Rhythms 2017 will close with its annual crowd favorite, From All of Us to All of You: Seasonal Songs and Disney, Too!   Inspired by the 1958 Walt Disney TV Special, audience members will be in a festive mood hearing songs for the holidays and songs from Disney movies.
