Gabrielle is thrilled to make her debut at Camera Jazz Club, leading a group with saxophonist Tim Armacost.
Gabrielle and Tim first found their musical chemistry headlining the 2019 Providencia Jazz Festival in Santiago, Chile — and they haven't looked back. Their adventurous pairing goes beyond the classic interplay of voice and horn: spontaneous, playful, and deeply swinging, they operate as a dynamic front line. Stravelli's luminous voice — described by the New York Times as "naturally effervescent" — weaves seamlessly with Armacost's rich, narrative-driven improvisations. Together they explore the American Songbook, original compositions, and adventurous arrangements that surprise and delight.
Anchoring the group are two New York-based greats: pianist Art Hirahara & bassist Pat O’Leary.
Art Hirahara is an American jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader known for his lyrical playing, thoughtful compositions, and deep connection to the jazz tradition. Hirahara’s music is noted for its emotional depth, rhythmic clarity, and narrative approach to improvisation.
Pat O’Leary is a musician whose deep, warm tone and impeccable timing have made him a first-call player for some of jazz's greatest names, including Diana Krall, James Moody, Joe Lovano, and the Lionel Hampton Orchestra. O’Leary’s genius for finding surprising and original arrangements anchors the band’s unique sound.
Bringing their celebrated quartet to Camera Jazz for the first time, this is a night not to miss.
